Intro

The Salesforce Architect plays a critical role in designing, overseeing, and guiding the implementation of Salesforce solutions across our organization. As a strategic technical leader, the architect ensures that all Salesforce-related systems and integrations align with our business goals, are scalable, and adhere to best practices in architecture, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Solution Design

  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable, efficient Salesforce solutions.

  • Design and maintain the overall architecture of Salesforce org(s), including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, and custom apps.

  • Define enterprise-wide architectural standards and governance practices for Salesforce development and integrations.

2. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as a technical advisor to executives, product managers, and stakeholders, providing strategic input on Salesforce capabilities and limitations.

  • Work closely with business analysts, admins, developers, and QA teams to ensure end-to-end solution alignment.

3. Technical Leadership

  • Lead the technical implementation of Salesforce projects, including configuration, customization, and integration.

  • Guide development teams with architectural blueprints, data modeling strategies, and scalable code frameworks.

  • Review and approve solution designs, code, and system configurations to ensure architectural integrity.

4. Integration and Data Management

  • Oversee integrations between Salesforce and external systems (ERP, marketing platforms, data lakes, etc.) using APIs, middleware (e.g., MuleSoft), and ETL tools.

  • Design and implement robust data models and ensure data governance, quality, and security across the platform.

5. Security and Compliance

  • Ensure Salesforce solutions comply with internal security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices (e.g., GDPR, SOX).

  • Manage user access, role hierarchy, permission sets, and shield platform encryption strategies.

6. Platform Optimization and Innovation

  • Continuously evaluate the latest Salesforce features, releases, and AppExchange solutions to drive innovation and efficiency.

  • Identify opportunities to automate business processes and improve user experiences.

7. Documentation and Enablement

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of architecture decisions, technical specifications, and system configurations.

  • Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to Salesforce developers, admins, and other team members.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Salesforce Architect with multiple large-scale implementations.

  • Expertise in core Salesforce products (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, etc.).

  • Deep knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, and integration frameworks.

  • Familiarity with DevOps processes, CI/CD tools, and source control systems (e.g., Git, Copado, Gearset).

  • Salesforce certifications strongly preferred: Application Architect, System Architect, and/or Technical Architect (CTA).

Reporting Structure

The Salesforce Architect will report to the Head of Digital Strategy / Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and will work in close coordination with Product Management, Engineering, and Business Systems teams.
